GYFCP Padded Flag Football

• For athletes in 3rd and 4th grade.
• Teams made up of 8-10 athletes.
• Athletes do not need to live in Greenfield in order to participate.
• If there is a 4th grader that wants to "play up" to a 5th grade tackle team, please reach out to president@greenfieldyouthfootball.org

• Practice starts mid-August and runs through October.
• Practice will be 2 days per week until the first scrimmage, then practice drops to 1 day per week.
• Practices will be held at an Elementary School field (within the Greenfield School District).
• There are usually 6 scrimmages per season.
• Scrimmages are typically inner-squad but we look for other scrimmage opportunities with teams of the same age group in our area.
• Scrimmages will have (2) 25 minute halves, with a 5 minute half time. Games have a running clock.
• There are 7 athletes that play in the game at any given time: QB, Center, RB, TE, WR, and 2 tackle positions.
• The field of play will consist of two 20-yard halves and two 5-yard end zones. The width of the entire field is 25 yards.

• Each athlete will receive the following borrowed equipment: reversible jersey, shoulder pads, helmet with chin strap, and flag belt. These items need to be turned in at the end of the season. 
• Items we provide that you keep: t-shirt and green socks.
• Items parents need to purchase: mouth guard and non-metal football cleats.

Each family will submit an "equipment fee check" that  we will hold onto until you return the borrowed gear at the end of the season. This check is not cashed unless you do not return your gear.

We operate as a 100% volunteer program. For our season to be successful, we rely on parent participation.

Volunteer opportunities: 

• Concession Stand
• Photographers
• Referees: You do not need professional-level football knowledge to serve as a referee. We provide referee cheat sheets to assist you.
• Team Parent: Help coaches organize snack schedules and manage other team related communications.
• Assistant Coaches: Additional coaches are always welcomed. Coaches will referee if volunteers are not available.

Each family will submit a "volunteer fee check" that we will hold onto until you fulfill your volunteer requirements. This check is not cashed unless you do not volunteer.

Fundraising at this level is completely optional.
