Athlete Code of Conduct
As a student/athlete in the Greenfield Youth Football and Cheer Program, you need to understand that playing on any organized team is a privilege and with that privilege comes certain responsibilities, First and foremost you are a student. School work should always come first. Next is respect, respect for your family, coaches, teammates and opposing teams, fans and officials. Last is attitude, a positive attitude in accepting your part on the team not only shows signs of being a good teammate but also is one of the first steps toward maturity.
- Players are responsible for their equipment and uniform.
- Always support the team and fellow players, never put them down; always stress a positive attitude and encouragement.
- Players must always display a high standard of behavior.
- Players must understand the importance of striving to win as a team, and not as an individual. Winning or losing is part of the game.
- Players must respect the authority of the coaches and officials.
- Always be indifferent to the attitudes and abilities of the other team.
- Players will not engage in profanity, abusive verbal or physical attacks on teammates or other players, including trash talking, taunting, or physical contact not related to the play, to any player, coach, official or fan. This applies to both in person and any use of all social media, i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc…
- Never dwell on “bad calls” made or not; walk away, never approach an official, coach or player. On field confrontations have no place in the AAYFL/GYFCP
- The use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, obscene language, or detrimental actions at AAYFL/GYFCP practices or games is strictly prohibited.
- A player who abandons his teammates to do something his parents coached him/her to do (which contradicts the team schemes/techniques) is letting down themselves and the team. And most importantly it may cause injury to themselves or worse their teammate.
- If you are suspended by the Greenfield School district you are not allowed on School District grounds. You must inform your head coach and program president that day.
I understand that the Greenfield Youth Football and Cheer Program is a select program, and operates under select guidelines.
- Team size (number of players) will be determined by the GYFCP Board and if needed player cuts can be made.
- Playing time, positions, and disciplinary actions will be determined by the coaches and supported by the GYFCP Board.
- If found in violation, or suspected of violating the AAYFL/GYFCP Player Code of Conduct, can result in your removal from the practice, game or team.
