Tackle Football Head Coaches
FOOTBALL HEAD COACHES
Our athletes are instructed by volunteer, youth-oriented coaches. All coaches need to pass a background check through TrustedCoaches.
Training courses are available to all football coaches through our partnership with Greenfield High School. Coaches have regular meetings with the varsity coaches at Greenfield High School to ensure that we are teaching the same concepts to athletes in our program, that they will ultimately learn at the High School level.
Individuals interested in coaching must be willing to commit to the necessary time to their team and athletes. Our Program Vetting Committee will interview and select all potential coaches. Any interested candidates should email Program President, Leah Macans at president@greenfieldyouthfootball.org.
QUESTIONS / CONCERNS
It is VERY important to have an open line of communication between athletes, families, coaches and the board.
All questions regarding athlete participation should be directed to your team’s Head Coach. If the concern occurred during a game, please refrain from contacting coaches for 24 hours. If you are not satisfied with the response to your inquiry, GYFCP recommends that you contact the GYFCP Program President, Leah Macans.
Additionally, GYFCP will not address any third party or anonymous phone calls or emails. It is imperative that any issues are clearly shared to all involved, so we can have a successful resolution.

7TH GRADE TACKLE HEAD COACH (2026)
Coach Mark's Bio
My wife, Heidi, is a member of the Greenfield Youth Football Board and we have 4 children who are all involved in Greenfield athletics, including our oldest who is currently playing on the Greenfield High School varsity football team. I was an assistant football coach for my daughter's team; she played tackle football in 2021-2023. I was a Head Coach 2024-2025 for my son's tackle team. I've also coached Greenfield Youth Basketball for the last few years.
I have always been involved in sports from a young age and played anything that I could ranging from volleyball, basketball, baseball, and football among others and I am a sports junkie.
I have a passion for seeing the youth learn the game of football and the discipline that comes with it while having fun doing it. I love seeing the athletes putting the skills and concepts we teach in practice onto the field on game day! There is nothing more exciting to me than seeing someone making a key block to open a hole for a big gain or touchdown or seeing a player make a great tackle to save a big gain or touchdown!
8TH GRADE TACKLE HEAD COACH (2026)
Coach Mike's Bio
My name is Michael Gomez. I live in Greenfield with my wife and two girls, ages 7 and 3. I’m originally from Los Angeles but moved to Wisconsin to attend and graduate from Marquette University.
I’ve always been passionate about football and how it teaches teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. I played since the 5th grade, won a high school California State Championship in 2003, played D-III at Marquette, then coached youth football from 2009-2018.
I bring with me a winning and “lead by example” mentality. I will push my team to their limits and beyond. That’s how we get better.
